| At India ICT Awards, Frost &
Sullivan recognised leaders of ICT industry on the basis
of competitor revenue, market share, growth over the
last year, market and technology innovation,
go-to-market strategy and other important developments
within the industry.

Monday, December 17, 2007: Frost &
Sullivan recently hosted the India ICT Awards to recognise
players that are contributing and in the future, would drive
the growth of information communication and technology
(ICT)industry through their market leadership, competitive
strategies and innovation. The sixth edition of of Frost
& Sullivan's India ICT Awards took place in Mumbai,
where Avaya GlobalConnect Ltd was honoured with Market
Leadership Award for Enterprise Telephony and Ericsson
India Pvt Ltd bagged Market Leadership Award for WPBX.

In the 'Telecom Services' category, VSNL won Market
Leadership Award for Enterprise Data Services and Tulip IT
Services Ltd was conferred with Market Leadership Award for
MPLS/IP VPN. Moving to the 'IT Security' category, Cisco
Systems India was bestowed upon Market Leadership Award for
Enterprise Security Solutions, whereas Market
Leadership Award for Managed Security Services went to
SecureSynergy Pvt Ltd.
Avaya GlobalConnect Ltd also
bagged Market Leadership Award for Contact Center
Applications. Growth Strategy Leadership Award for
Legal Process Outsourcing was bagged by Mindcrest India
Pvt Ltd. HCL Technologies was honoured with Market
Leadership Award for Domestic Remote Infrastructure
Management, whereas Growth Strategy Leadership Award
for Domestic Remote Infrastructure Management went to
Progressive Infotech Pvt Ltd.
Commenting on the
occasion, Dr T R Madan Mohan, director, consulting, ICT
Practice, Frost & Sullivan, South Asia and Middle East,
shared, "India has become a strategic market for many IT
players and our awards reflect this reality. Based on
development efforts, we have had companies developing
innovative solutions, pursuing the setting of industry-wide
standards and product development opportunities from India and
a comprehensive marketing approach of becoming truly
glocal."
He further added, "Honours this year are
equally shared between large MNC and domestic majors, which
demonstrates successful market growth and market leadership
strategies. We also recognise efforts by major companies that
affect industry-wide innovation and contribute to improved
solutions and systems."
In the 'Software &
Services' category, Microsoft India won Growth Strategy
Leadership Award for Database; SAP India was honoured with
Market Leadership Award for Enterprise Application
Software; Growth Strategy Leadership Award for Mid
Market Enterprise Application went to 3i Infotech Ltd; and
Satyam Computer Services was conferred with Competitive
Strategy Leadership Award for Offshore Testing.
Maveric Testing Solutions was awarded with Product
Innovation Award for Offshore Testing; Vertical Growth
Leadership Award in Telecom Software and Product
Innovation Award for Enterprise DRM were bagged by Tech
Mahindra Ltd. Industry Innovation & Advancement Award
for ITIL went to Hewlett-Packard India; Microsoft India
and Novell India were jointly honoured with Industry
Innovation & Advancement Award for System
Interoperability; Market Leadership Award for
Storage went to IBM India; Growth Strategy Leadership
Award for Outsourced Product Development was clinched by
Persistent Systems; and Growth Strategy Leadership Award
for PLM Software was bagged by Siemens PLM
Software.
