NEW DELHI, DEC 12 :  The Call Centre Association of India (CCAI) launched eSecure, a security software aimed at the BPO industry at a CII seminar on the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry on Monday. The product is aimed at filling the existing gap of security vulnerabilities in the BPO industry.

The product is being provided by CII and CCAI in collaboration with SecureSynergy. The software will facilitate call centres and the BPO industry in meeting challenges of data protection and privacy of customer information.

The cost of the services will be approximately Rs 4,200 to 8,000 per month depending on the size and number of locations of the call centre. CCAI had earlier launched the E-Kaliber package aimed at creating a pool of skilled manpower for the call centre industry.

CCAI president Sam Chopra informed that CCAI has been working closely with CII in developing and offering solutions which cater to the specific needs of the industry.

The eSecureSuite consists of four distinct, but interrelated components that together provide a comprehensive coverage of the entire fabric of information security requirements of the Business Process Industry. These components are - best practices and policies, audit and current state reviews, awareness and corporate training programs, and technology implementation and deployment of services.

According CII advisor Lt. Gen. S.S. Mehta, “Security vulnerability has emerged as the biggest threat to companies across industry verticals. To remain competitive especially in the BPO business, there is a greater need of having a robust security system in place in order to maintain the confidence among clients."

National security council secretariat joint secretary Arvind Gupta agreeing with Gen. Mehta's comments said, “Globally security threats have surpassed the physical domain alone, and it has entered the cyber domain as well. The events of security threats have taken national proportions and have the irritable possibility of hampering economic growth.”
