Patch Management Software Eases IT Admin Woes
By CXOtoday Staff
Mumbai, Feb 17, 2005

SecureSynergy has recently unveiled its automated, cross-platform patch management software PatchEasy that helps IT administrators protect their enterprises from the associated risks of security vulnerabilities.

Among the product's new features are, patch rollback capability for previous configurations and scanning by IP Range and Subnet to locate all manageable computers. Companies can also reboot notification for clients.

The other notable features are database size reduction, named master agents managed from console and also multi-locale support for adding new languages.

"Patching is a way of life and there is a crying need within corporates to reduce the time and cost associated with patching. Security vulnerabilities are growing and the volume of supplier-issued patches is quickly outstripping the ability of IT staff to keep up," said Capt Felix Mohan, CEO, SecureSynergy.

PatchEasy ensures that the administrators do not have to worry about unnecessary scripting, patch inter-dependencies, rolling back to older configurations and deciding which patches are applicable for which application.

Users can log on to Patcheasy and register for a free download trial, which includes five licenses and is available for a 15-day trial period.

PatchEasy 6.3 will be available to customers on February 9, 2005 through SecureSynergy's Distributor/VAR network.
