SecureSynergy enhances security offering Add to Clippings

INDIATIMES NEWS NETWORK
[ WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 09, 2005 02:42:53 PM]

NEW DELHI: Mumbai-based e-security firm SecureSynergy has made available its next generation automated, cross-platform patch management software PatchEasy that can help IT administrators protect their enterprises from security vulnerabilities.

PatchEasy 6.3, the newest version of the company’s patch management software, offers advanced functionality for the Microsoft Windows platform and also adds patching capabilities for Red Hat Linux and Solaris operating systems.

“The latest release of PatchEasy boosts our belief that patching is a way of life and that there is a crying need within corporates to reduce the time and cost associated with patching.

Security vulnerabilities are growing and the volume of supplier-issued patches is quickly outstripping the ability of IT staff to keep up,” said SecureSynergy CEO Felix Mohan.

“PatchEasy 6.3 builds on the product’s existing reputation for reliability, flexibility and ease-of-use, making it ideal for businesses that need to have a complete automated patch management solution,” he added.

“With PatchEasy 6.3, our customers are empowered to automate the challenge of patch management while maintaining management control,” said Anil Menon, senior vice president, SecureSynergy.

“Following detailed feedback from our customers, it was clear that PatchEasy would add further value to them with the addition of these important features like roll back support, heterogeneous platform support, scanning by IP range, database size reduction. There is no easier, more scaleable or affordable security best practice product in this space than ours.”

To benefit from PatchEasy 6.3, one can visit the site www.patcheasy.com and click on the “Register” button under Free Download trial to receive a free, fully functional evaluation of the product. The evaluation includes five licenses and is available for a 15-day trial period.

It will be available to customers from Wednesday through SecureSynergy’s distributor and value added reseller network. SecureSynergy is a technology consulting and services company with operations in India, Middle East, ASEAN, Australia, New Zealand and USA.

Some of the most security conscious organizations and industries in the world are among the 750 odd clientele of SecureSynergy.
