 Q: There is lack of awareness about Secure Synergy products here in Delhi, so what are your plans to increase awareness? Please update me about your channel network in Delhi? What type of technical support Secure Synergy provides?

  Hi Sharma, I agree. Though creating awareness is an ongoing challenge for all. We have a planned channel program coming up in April at Delhi . We have several existing partners in Delhi and you can reach them through our distributors Ingram and Techpac as well as thru my colleague sanjiv Dogra at 98103 04454. We have a pool of 10+ pre-sales people at Delhi who provide pre sales help. Support is thru channels itself.

 Q: Do you have any antivirus particularly for the servers with different OS? What are your plans to expand your Channel Network? Other than firewalls and IDS What are the other products from SecureSynergy?

  Hi Anbarasu. Yes, we have MVD ASaP for heterogenous platforms as well as VirusScan ASaP for Windows Servers. We are making an aggressive foray into SMB space while renewing our thrust into the Enterprise. That means addition of exciting products as well as new, committed channels. We have in addition to AV, Firewall, IPS products a slew of other products like Application Firewalls, VA tools, Sniffer and an automated patch management solution - PatchEasy.  Q: Does it provides applet filtering, and URL blocking? Can your firewall be configured to run in conjunction with email virus scanners? As we see, most Hardware based firewall lead to bandwidth chocking and Bottleneck how do you take care of that? Many a times the Firewall it self becomes a single point of failure, which can impact all electronic operations, e-mail service, is it the same with you too or you have any solution for it? Does the firewall offered by SecureSynergy, have Load balancing facility?

  Hi Sanjiv, that is a long one. We provide two ways of handling this - managed by SS as well as self managed by customers. All our products provide load balancing as well as high availability. Through NOC based service we also provide Intrernet friendly, malicious code management technologies.   Hi Jayesh, thank you. We have some exciting schemes running for channels like Mission Lakhshya scheme as well as a proposed channel training in April. We are also keen to keep doing home account programs for generating closures/awareness for channels.

 Q: How effective is a System Integrator in Office Automation Business, I mean to say does it make Strong Business sense to INTEGRATE them into our Core Business keeping in mind the customer's point of view.

  Hi Vijay, today IT management cannot be distinct from Office automation. The roles are merging where SI's and all IT solution providers have to learn to be facilities management providers. Thus a strong business case exists. Customers love single point ownership always backed up by core expertise in few areas.

 Q: Do I need to invest special hardware for implementing this service? Can I manage remote clients with this service?

  Hi Nishant, the charm of most of our service is savings on additional investments in hardware, software. Our products are self standing with very little requirement for additional infrastructure. Yes. You can manage remote clients with our managed services, ASaP as well as Patch management.

 Q: After any virus breakout what is the minimum time for patches? Can I use SS for updating my asset management and updating? Does this scan packets at gateway? If so, can I scan my Http/SMTP packets also?

  Hi Gautam, I cannot give you a short answer for this. However, yes we can help you cut the time to Patch with PatchEasy. A new release of this product planned for March will also do asset/config management. If you need scanning of packets at gateway, we have malicious prevention product MVD ASaP as well as Content Filtering solutions an SMB appliance eRakshak as well as a comprehensive filtering solution in ePrism & iPrism.   Hi Rajiv, our ASaP offering backed by McAfee is fantastic for the SMB space. We also have a multi function appliance coming up with eRakshak for VPN, Firewall, Spam & Content Filtering.  Q: Is Secure Synergy planning for expansion plans for Eastern, North Eastern and other up country market? What is the USP of the products dealt by you? Since McAfee Northern bundle there firewall with their anti virus and Zone alarm is also available at free on the internet so why will one buy or invest in firewalls?

  Hi Abhishek, NorthEast and Eastern market is going to be a focus area for us next year. We will have training and customer event there soon. Our value proposition is not providing AV or Firewall but a comprehensive stack of security services including technology, products, services and training.   Hi Anil, that is a tough one. If I were you, I will look at references, breadth of offering, internal skill sets, investments made internally by the company as well as appropriateness to your organisation. Features do not matter beyond a point nor do price.

 Q: Lots of IT managers are happy for what they are using as patch mgmt from suse, they don't feel the need to go for patch management, as I have sent the mailer to my top client but I have not got positive feedback, can you help me how can we value add to the customer.

  Hi Yogesh, I thot u are a friend... don't ask me tough questions! On a serious note, patch management is a way of life and PatchEasy is one of the most comprehensive and easily configurable offerings.   Hi Sandeep, we work on Port 80 and that is a common http port - so should not be a problem for the ASaP Service.

 Q: Do you see a market in east at all for your products? I see no activities of yours happening here? Your comments.

  Hi KK. Yes, we do see a market. Scaling fast is always a challenge. We have plans for the east in the next FY.
